… are like nipples on men… kinda cute, but really unnecessary, since they don’t use them!
Unless of course you use that empty candy bag (as mentioned in one of my earlier posts) or you tell them it’s time to go to Coldstone for ice cream.
But not that just… kids also don’t seem to be allergic to their own screaming, the way I am. I swear to you, when they scream from the top of their lungs, the sound waves travel straight to the center of my brain and destroy precious brain cells… which of course I don’t need anyway, right? I’m a mom, what good might those brain cells possibly be? I mean, between doing laundry, cooking and entertaining there really is no use for those precious brain cells anyway. So while I grow dumber by the minute, my kids don’t seem to be bothered by the noise the create at all. Quite the contrary… the use strange words on me that I have to look up in the dictionary. Well, they’re American citizens… maybe that’s why they’re smarter…
I need some earplugs… now… oh, and my craving for chocolate has returned too. Everything is good then.

haha I had never thought about children’s ears being akin to men’s nippes before. Conjurs up a rather weird image in my head!!
My children have very selective hearing- I can holler “tidy your room” and they don’t hear but if I whisper “biscuit” from two miles away they come running.
I remember having a conversation with my sister many years ago about the age when children stop crying and neither of us could remember when it happened - it just does without you noticing. Obviously mine do cry sometimes - but only if something more traditionally upsetting occurs. They don’t do it in frustration or temper anymore and being boys they’d have to lose a few limbs before they cried when injured. I do’nt remember the last time any of them cried.
LOL!
At least you can joke about it to relieve some of the stress!
You’re a good mommy…and you’re way smart enough to lose a few brain cells without even noticing the difference!
Hey, and thanks for the lovely comment on my TT blog! =)
I will DEFINITELY visit you when I get to Oregon!
Lol! Yes completely useless! My girls are professionals at selective hearing.
and it does not get any better… my girls are 20 and 22 and their hearing is still selective, you have my full condolences.
best from TN
